  • Today's Luxor, located on the Nile in Upper Egypt, flourished on the site of ancient Thebes, one of the most important cities in the country's history. Historians estimate that it was listed as the largest city in the world twice in its history - the first time around 1980 BC, when it overtook the city of Ur, the capital of ancient Mesopotamia, and again around 1400 BC when it overtook Memphis, the ancient capital of Egypt.

Tour to Karnak Temple

Tour to Karnak Temple

  • Your first stop will be the famous Karnak Temple, the most prominent place of worship ever built, dating back over two thousand years. You will explore the complex of temples, including the impressive "Hypostyle Hall" with its colossal pillars.
  • The most important monument of Luxor is the Karnak Temple Complex, where temples are dedicated to Theban gods. The largest and most important of them is the one dedicated to the god, Amon.
  • The Karnak temple visit is, of course, a must-see on every tourist's list while visiting Egypt. With an experienced, knowledgeable, and passionate guide, our guests visit the Karnak Open Air Museum. The Karnak tours last about two hours because the Karnak Temple Complex occupies a huge area with temple complexes erected by several Egyptian rulers.

Tour to the Colossi of Memnon

Tour to the Colossi of Memnon

  • Next, you'll visit the West Bank of the Nile to see the Colossi of Memnon. The Colossi of Memnon are two gigantic statues of Amenophis III that presided over his funerary temple on the west bank of the Nile at Luxor. The statues, built 3,400 years ago, show the pharaoh at ease, hands on his knees, gazing at the rising sun. His mother, Queen Mutemwiya, and his wife, Queen Tiy, are sculpted on the lower part of the statues.

Tour to the Valley of the Kings

Tour to the Valley of the Kings

  • and then explore the Valley of the Kings, where you'll visit three magnificently decorated tombs carved deep into the desert rock. The Valley of the Kings, Wadi Biban el Muluk, has excited the interest and imagination of countless visitors over thousands of years.
  • The rulers of the Eighteenth, Nineteenth, and Twentieth Dynasties of Egypt’s prosperous New Kingdom (c.1550–1069 BC) were buried in a desolate valley across the River from the ancient city of Thebes (modern Luxor), hence its modern name of the Valley of the Kings. The Valley of the Kings is divided into the East and West Valleys. The eastern is by far the more iconic of the two, as the western valley contains only a handful of tombs. In all, the Valley of the Kings includes over sixty tombs and an additional twenty unfinished ones that are little more than pits.

Tour to the Mortuary Temple of Hatshepsut

My companion and I received outstanding service during our one-day private excursion to Luxor with Landious Travel. Booking the trip was a breeze, and our inquiries were swiftly addressed via WhatsApp chat. Our driver, Ali, was punctual and very friendly when he picked us up from our hotel in Soma Bay. Throughout the day, in addition to visiting planned landmarks like Karnak Temple, Valley of the Kings, and Memnon Colossi, we were treated to impromptu explanations and discoveries. Our tour guide, a highly knowledgeable Egyptologist, spoke excellent English and provided us with informative and engaging tours of all the attractions. He readily answered our historical questions and shared insights about the current state of Egypt. We learned a great deal quickly without the explanations being lengthy. Our guide and driver maintained cheerful dispositions, and Ali was always accommodating, patiently waiting for us at every stop. The day was perfect, and the local people we encountered were hot and friendly. We're grateful that we chose to go with this tour operator!

We wholeheartedly endorse the Luxor excursion

Posted by Jennifer White on 6th Aug 2024

My partner and I decided to journey to Luxor from Hurghada. After browsing the internet for travel offers, we stumbled upon Landious Travel, a highly-rated agency. Intrigued, we decided to book a VIP Luxor trip. The booking process was seamless, and shortly after confirmation, we were promptly contacted via WhatsApp to address any queries or special requests. The following day, we were expected to convene in the lobby at 5 a.m. Our journey to Luxor lasted approximately 4 hours within the comfort of an air-conditioned car, accompanied by our tour guide and driver. We took advantage of the opportunity to rest during the drive, pausing briefly after approximately 2 hours for a quick break. Upon reaching Luxor, we embarked on a captivating exploration of the essential tombs and museums, fully immersed in the historical knowledge provided by our guide. A particular highlight was our private Nile boat excursion, arranged exclusively for us. Our guide and driver demonstrated unwavering courtesy and assistance throughout the day, offering valuable advice on avoiding persistent street vendors. The delectable lunch was a true delight and highly recommended, and given the scorching weather, our thoughtful driver ensured an ample supply of refreshing beverages throughout the excursion. The awe-inspiring tombs left a lasting impression, and our return journey included a delightful stop at local street food stalls. Both my partner and I were thoroughly pleased with our guide and driver. We wholeheartedly endorse this excursion to all, as the absence of "annoying tourists" was a refreshing change. The meticulously planned trip seamlessly accommodated our preferences, making for an unforgettable experience.

We were thoroughly impressed with Landious Travel

During our family trip to Hurghada, Egypt, we had the pleasure of booking a 14.5-hour excursion to Luxor through Landious Travel. The private tour was effortless to arrange via WhatsApp, which was convenient as we only had internet access at our hotel. The booking process was smooth, and the staff communicated effectively in English, providing comprehensive details about the trip. We sent our passport photos for the reservation and shared our hotel and room information to receive a booking confirmation. On the day of the excursion, we had to wake up at 4 a.m. for an early start. Our group of eight was promptly picked up at 5 a.m. from the hotel reception by a knowledgeable tour guide who spoke excellent English. The private tour included our small bus with two drivers and an Egyptologist guide. Overall, we were thoroughly impressed with Landious Travel and wholeheartedly recommend their services. I highly recommend contacting them if you're planning excursions while in Egypt. Not only did they offer a more affordable option than other tour operators, but the level of service we received surpassed our expectations.

On our day trip from Marsa Alam to Luxor, my partner and I had an unforgettable experience. Our day began at 4:00 a.m. when our driver picked us up from the hotel, and he safely returned us at around 7:00 p.m. Our driver expertly navigated the traffic throughout the journey, allowing us to relax and enjoy the ride. We were delighted to find that drinks were provided and chilled for our enjoyment. Our guide made a remarkable impact on our day, using his extensive knowledge to adjust our schedule and ensure we experienced historical sites without the usual crowds. His deep understanding of hieroglyphs and ancient Egypt brought the sites to life in ways we never imagined. Our visit included stops at the Karnak Temple, the Memnon statues, and a boat ride across the Nile. We prioritised visiting three tombs in the Valley of the Kings, allowing us to explore in near solitude. Trusting the organiser's suggestions led to a truly fulfilling experience.

Great day trip from Marsa Alam to Luxor

Posted by Alex Collins on 4th Aug 2024

I recently had an unforgettable experience with Landious Travel during a day trip to Luxor from Marsa Alam. After a disappointing excursion booked through a local travel agency, I found Landious Travel online, which had great reviews. Their customer service was excellent, and they quickly organized a last-minute trip for us despite having only two days' notice. The team at Landious Travel was exceptional. Our guide was knowledgeable and had a great sense of humour. He tailored an excellent excursion program for us. Thanks to his expertise, we could visit historical sites before the tour buses arrived. Despite the midday heat, our visit to the Valley of the Kings was undisturbed, allowing us to appreciate the tombs fully. During the excursion, we enjoyed delicious Egyptian cuisine and had access to ice-cold drinks courtesy of our thoughtful driver. We even had our private boat for the Nile crossing. The private day trip to Luxor was impeccably organized, with a reliable driver, an excellent tour guide, an engaging program, and delectable food. Landious Travel offers a private tour, spacious, air-conditioned transport, direct hotel pick-up and drop-off, a dedicated driver and guide, and a flexible sightseeing program. I highly recommend Landious Travel for anyone seeking a private, personalized tour experience away from the typical tourist crowds.

Perfect Luxor day trip from Port Ghalib

Posted by Stephanie Dye on 24th Jul 2024

We made arrangements with Landious Travel using WhatsApp during our recent trip, which initially made us hesitant. However, despite our concerns, we were disappointed that the hotel only offered long trips on days that didn't suit our schedule. Fortunately, the issue was quickly resolved, and everything was sorted out smoothly through Landious Travel. Since our journey began from Port Ghalib, it naturally took a bit longer. Nonetheless, the driver was delightful and adept at his job. Upon arriving in Luxor, we were greeted by our English tour guide. Having visited Luxor three years prior, we decided to make some last-minute changes to our itinerary and explore different sites we hadn't previously experienced. The private tour cost was quite reasonable, and we were delighted that we didn't opt for a package through a more prominent tour operator such as TUI. This private option allowed for a faster, more comfortable, tailored experience perfectly aligned with our interests. Once we return next summer, we look forward to booking our next excursion with Landious Travel from Hurghada to Cairo.
