What to Expect

Pick-up Service from your hotel

On your first day in Luxor, you'll be picked up from your hotel early in the morning. You'll travel in a comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle along a newly built road through the desert. On your way to Luxor, you will have a short break at a rest stop to use the facilities or stretch your legs.
Continuing to Qena Governorate, you'll experience the lush and bustling Nile Valley, immersing yourself in everyday Egyptian life.

Tour to Luxor Temple

Upon reaching Luxor around 10 am, you'll visit the impressive Luxor Temple, including the renowned Abu El Hagag Mosque. Following this, you'll embark on a motorboat cruise on the Nile to experience Luxor from the waterfront.

Hot Air Balloon Ride

Hot air ballooning in Luxor, Egypt has a long and fascinating history. It began in the late 1700s when French aeronaut Jean-Pierre Blanchard took off from the city of Luxor for the first time. Since then, hot-air ballooning has become a popular activity for tourists visiting Luxor.

The experience of hot air ballooning in Luxor is truly unique. As you float over the ancient city, you can see the incredible monuments and temples that have stood for thousands of years. You can also take in stunning views of the Nile River and its surrounding landscapes. The experience is truly breathtaking and one that will stay with you forever.

The process of hot air ballooning in Luxor is relatively simple. First, you must book a flight with an experienced company that specializes in hot air balloon tours. These companies typically provide all necessary equipment and safety measures to ensure a safe flight. Once you have booked your flight, you will be taken to the launch site where your pilot will begin to fill up the balloon with hot air using a gas burner. Once filled up, it's time to take off!

As you ascend into the sky, your pilot will point out various landmarks and monuments below you as well as provide interesting facts about them. You can also enjoy spectacular views of the Nile River and its surrounding landscapes as you fly over them at an altitude of around 1,000 feet or more! Once your journey is complete, your pilot will land the balloon safely back at its launch site before returning you to your hotel or other destination in Luxor.

Karnak Temple Sound & Light Show

The Karnak Sound and Light Show highlights the dramatic history of ancient Thebes. The show narrates the achievements of some great Pharaohs, with poetic descriptions of the ancient treasures. As visitors walk through the complex, the pharaohs arise to tell the story of their interesting lives, as haunting music mysteriously flows through this ancient city. Ancient and poetic voices tell the visitors about the birth of Karnak temple and the heroic achievements of the pharaohs and the god Amun. It is an enchanting and supernatural experience to listen to sound effects and gaze at the magnificent ruins illuminated during the well-presented show.

Medinet Habu Tour

On Luxor’s West Bank, Ramses III built his magnificent mortuary temple with intricate relief carvings and shrines. With its wonderfully preserved art, Medinet Habu represents the pharaoh's royal legacy and is among Luxor’s most important ancient sites. Images of hunting trips, prisoner executions, and battles with the Sea Peoples offer a window into ancient history.

You will also be able to visit some other temples inside Habu Temple such as the Temple of Amun dating to the 18th Dynasty, built by Queen Hatshepsut and Thutmose III. It has undergone many alterations and modifications over the years.

Incredible 2-day adventure in Luxor

I had the most incredible 2-day adventure in Luxor, which included a mesmerizing hot air balloon ride at sunrise over the Nile. It's hard to put into words just how awe-inspiring the experience was. Our guide was exceptional and met us at the Karnak Temple in Luxor. Our journey started at the Menaville in Safaga, and after a pleasant 3-hour drive, we arrived in Luxor. After a delightful lunch, our first stops were the Karnak and Luxor Temple. Checking in at the Aracan Eatabe Luxor Hotel, we attended the captivating sound and light show at the Karnak Temple, which I highly recommend. At 4:30 a.m., we boarded a boat and crossed the Nile to embark on a remarkable 1-hour hot air balloon ride. Following this, we enjoyed a delightful breakfast, explored the Valley of the Kings, Hatshepsut Temple, and Memnon Colossi, and even indulged in a half-hour boat trip on the Nile. After being deeply moved by these remarkable sites, we returned to Safaga, feeling immense gratitude towards Landious for organizing such a memorable experience and, of course, for our excellent guide.

On our recent trip with Landious, we had an unforgettable experience from start to finish. Our journey began with a 5:40 a.m. pickup by our familiar and friendly driver, instantly putting us at ease. We made a smooth arrival in Luxor with a brief stop and were promptly greeted by our guide, who had a heartwarming reunion with my wife after two years apart. The guide's extensive knowledge and willingness to answer our questions made our visit to the Karnak Temple educational and immersive. We appreciated the freedom to explore the temple at our own pace, away from the crowds of tourists. Following a delightful Nile cruise and a delicious lunch, we continued our adventure at the awe-inspiring Valley of the Kings. Although we opted out of exploring the tombs, we were thoroughly impressed by our guide's expertise. The Terrace Temple of Hatshepsut profoundly impacted us as the guide shared the location's historical significance. Thanks to Landious Travel, I had an unforgettable trip to Egypt. The company provided top-notch service and made sure every aspect of the trip was well taken care of. From the moment we booked our trip, Landious Travel was responsive and helpful. We flew to Cairo, where we visited the pyramids, museum, Nile cruise, and delicious lunch on the Nile. I had a fantastic experience on a private tour of Luxor, Egypt. Communication was effortless via email, and we were promptly picked up from our hotel. The journey to Luxor was comfortable and stress-free, thanks to our knowledgeable tour guide and skilled driver, who considered our preferences. Our overnight stay at a 5-star hotel in Luxor was delightful. Being on a private tour allowed us to see and experience much more than on a group tour. The value for the price we paid was excellent, and we are considering booking future trips to Egypt with the same tour provider. Our 2-day tour in Luxor was incredibly well-organised and genuinely unforgettable. Our tour guide spoke perfect English and thoroughly explained everything we saw. It was refreshing to experience a lack of mass tourism, and we were pleased to know that our money benefited the local people rather than a large corporation paying minimum wages.
