Hurghada International Airport

Hurghada International Airport (IATA: HRG, ICAO: HEGN) is the main international airport serving Hurghada in Egypt. Situated 5 km (3.1 mi) southwest of El Dahar, the city centre of Hurghada, it is the second busiest airport in Egypt after Cairo International Airport. The airport is a significant hub for leisure flights, primarily from Europe, and is among the busiest airports in the Middle East.

Airport Location

The airport is situated 5 km (3 miles) southwest of downtown Hurghada (El Dahar district). It serves Hurghada, the centre of the Red Sea Governorate of Egypt, the seaport city Safaga, and numerous incredible Red Sea beach and aquatic sports resorts, including Al Quseir, Sharm El Naga, El Gouna, Al-Mahmya, Soma Bay, and Makadi Bay.

Route Network

The route network of Hurghada includes scheduled passenger services to the capital city of Egypt, Cairo, and direct connections to several European destinations. More than 40 airlines operate seasonal charter flights to cities in Western and Eastern Europe, Scandinavia, Russia, and the CIS countries. The airport has recently undergone extensive renovations to accommodate the significantly increasing leisure traffic.

Passenger Services

There is only one terminal at Hurghada Airport, and the car parking is located just outside the terminal. You can get to the city or hotels by taxi or public transport (minibuses).

The terminal provides various facilities to meet the needs of departing and arriving passengers, including restaurants, cafes, currency exchange services, telephones, a post office, souvenir shops, essential goods stores, a left luggage office, a VIP lounge, and a car rental office.

There are no business facilities at the airport. However, it's possible to use conference and meeting facilities at the resort hotels, which are located only 5 minutes away from the airport by car.

Airport Shopping Service

Hurghada airport offers a wide range of shopping opportunities before your flight. The terminal hosts numerous souvenir shops, and the departure zone features duty-free stores selling perfumes, alcohol, and confectionery products at discounted prices.
