What to Expect

On day 1, we will begin the journey by departing from your hotel and driving to Bahariya Oasis, about 350 km east of Cairo. We will make two coffee breaks along the way to ensure a comfortable journey.
Upon arrival at Bahariya Oasis, we will witness the railways transporting iron ore deposits to the Steel mill at Helwan. This oasis is the primary source of iron ore in Egypt, and we will have the opportunity to explore the area.
10:00, we will meet our Safari guide and embark on our adventure in a 4x4 Jeep, heading towards the fascinating Black Desert. We will marvel at the black powder that covers its mountains and highlands, giving it its unique name.
After our exploration, we will have lunch in El Haize Oasis, 37 km from Bawiti. Here, we can relax in a hot spring before visiting the Water Museum to learn about the significance of underground water for the people of the desert.
Continuing our journey, we will visit the Valley of Agabat and Ain Khedra to discover the mesmerizing beauty of the white desert and unique rock formations. We will then set up tents in the White Desert National Park and enjoy the breathtaking sunset before dinner and desert camping.
On day 2, we will wake up early to witness the sunrise from the desert and enjoy breakfast there. We will then drive to El Khor Mountain and Sahel Baraka before reaching Djara Cave, concluding our memorable adventure.
In the Western Desert, the El Farafra Oasis is a tranquil and enigmatic location often called the White Desert. One of this region's most remarkable prehistoric sites is the Djara Cave, featuring the sole rock-art depictions within a 250 km radius. The cave boasts well-preserved scenes of gazelles and other wildlife amid its dripstone roof, which crystalline deposits have formed over millions of years.
A noteworthy attraction in the White Desert National Park is the Magic Spring, also known as Ain El-Serw. The spring is renowned for its unique behaviour: the water level increases as humans or animals approach and recede upon their departure. Little is known about the origin of this phenomenon, adding to its mystique.
Following a visit to Ain El-Serw, a desert adventure awaits with a Jeep 4x4 excursion to the Qaraween dunes, offering the opportunity to engage in sandboarding. The day concludes with a visit to the stunning white limestone formations of the White Desert, marking an extraordinary transition from the dark terrain of the Black Desert.
The following day, an early start allows for enjoying a desert sunrise before proceeding to Bahariya Oasis. En route, a visit to Crystal Mountain, characterized by its quartzite crystals sparkling in the sunlight, offers a captivating natural spectacle. A stop at Bir Sigam, a hot spring renowned for its relaxing properties, also provides a refreshing break. The day concludes with a visit to the palm and olive fields, Gebel Maghrafa, Lake al-Marun, and the summit of the English Mountain (Gebel Al Ingleez), where a panoramic view of the northern part of the oasis can be embraced.
On the final day, a visit to the tombs of Bannentiu and Djed-Ankh-Amun-Iuf, the capital city of Bawiti, and the Museum of the Golden Mummies and the Temple of Ain El Muftella precede the return trip to Cairo. Lunch is served in Bahariya Oasis before the journey concludes.
