What to Expect

  • On the first day, depart from your hotel and head to Bahariya Oasis, approximately 350 km east of Cairo. We'll stop for a restroom break and grab some coffee on the way. Once we arrive at Bahariya Oasis, we'll hop on a 4x4 Jeep and go to the black desert. We'll have lunch in El Haize Oasis before exploring the renowned White Desert National Park. Afterwards, we'll drive to the valley of Agabat, where you can marvel at the unique rock formations once under the sea millions of years ago. As the sky changes colours, we'll gather around a small fire for a delightful meal prepared by the Bedouin staff. We'll end the day with desert camping.
  • On the second day, start the day with breakfast in the desert before heading back to Bahariya Oasis. On our way back, we'll visit Crystal Mountain, a natural wonder formed by quartzite crystals. Next, we'll stop at Bir Sigam, a relaxing hot spring 7 km east of Bahariya. We'll have lunch at a local restaurant in Bahariya and then explore the oasis, including the palm and olive fields, Gebel Maghrafa, and Lake al-Marun, the largest salt lake in Bahariya Oasis. We'll conclude the day by watching the sunset from the summit of the English Mountain (Gebel Al Ingleez), offering a stunning panorama of the northern part of the oasis. Finally, we'll head back to the hotel in Bahariya for check-in.
  • On day 3, after breakfast at the hotel, we will visit the tombs of Bannentiu and Djed-Ankh-Amun-Iuf (Zed-Amun). These tombs, dating back to the 26th Dynasty, were discovered by the Egyptian archaeologist Ahmed Fakhry in 1938 at Qasr Selim. Later, we will explore Bawiti, the capital of Bahariya Oasis, and stop by the Museum of the Golden Mummies and the Temple of Ain El Muftella. Finally, we will conclude the day by driving back to your hotel.

    I recently had an incredible experience in Egypt that I highly recommend to anyone visiting. The trip offered a welcome escape from the hustle and bustle of Cairo and provided a unique cultural perspective, relaxation, and deep understanding. I was fortunate to have an English-speaking guide who helped me gain insights into the country's history, religion, and politics, and our driver, Mohamed, was an indispensable part of the journey. I highly recommend requesting him if possible. The 8-hour drive turned out to be an enriching experience rather than a mere trip, as our driver took us to local restaurants and coffee spots, facilitating meaningful conversations along the way. The destination, Siwa, is a stunning oasis amid the desert, with an outstanding hotel offering a refreshing pool and an abundance of date palms. Exploring the village's history and visiting various locales in just a few hours was eye-opening. The safari and camping experiences were unforgettable, particularly the mesmerizing salt ponds, albeit with a caution not to get any salt in your eyes. The local guides were incredibly welcoming and eager to share their knowledge, with Hassan standing out as a remarkable guide. I also had the opportunity to meet people worldwide during a picnic under the stars, fostering a deep sense of shared humanity. Overall, this trip is an exceptional value, and I believe it would still be worth it, even at double the price. I am truly grateful for this unforgettable experience.
