What to Expect

Pick-up Service from your hotel

On your first day of your Cairo tour, you'll be picked up from your hotel early in the morning. You'll travel in a comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle along a newly built road along the Red Sea coast. On your way to Luxor, you will have a short break at a rest stop to use the facilities or stretch your legs.

Tour to Giza Pyramids

You will start a full-day tour to visit the Pyramids of Cheops, Chefren, and Mykerinus while listening to your Egyptologist guide. Afterwards, you will enjoy a panoramic view, take photos of all the pyramids together.
Later, you will transfer to the Sphinx and have the chance to walk around the Great Pyramids, touch them, and take memorable pictures.
After that, you will visit the Great Sphinx, which has the head of a pharaoh and a lion body, dating back to the time of Khephren. Finally, you will visit the Valley Temple, which belonged to the Pyramid of Chefren and acted as a place for the mummification process of the king before burial.

Discover the Great Pyramid

Situated on the Giza Plateau, the Great Pyramid is a must-see landmark of ancient Egypt. The Great Pyramid, the tomb of King Khufu (c.2589–2566 BC), with its original height of 146.5 meters, was the tallest structure in the world for 3,800 years. It remains the last surviving member of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World and took an estimated 10 to 20 years to build. To this day, it is not entirely certain how it was built.
Additionally, the equally remarkable pyramids of Khafre and Menkaure can be found nearby. Adjacent to these structures are the more minor but significant queens' pyramids, which served as the tombs for Khufu's wives and sisters.

Admire the Pyramid of Menkaure

Menkaure (Mykerinos to the ancient Greeks; c.2532–2503 BC) is the builder of the third of the three large Giza Pyramids. He was most likely the son of Khafre (Chefren) and grandson of Khufu (Cheops). With a base area that is less than a quarter of their pyramids’, and with an original height of 65 meters, Menkaure’s is by far the smallest of the three. This size reduction is due to several factors, including the limited amount of space left on the Giza Plateau. The material used for the outer casing of Menkaure’s pyramid is another. Whereas his predecessors had used limestone for this purpose, Menkaure employed granite, which was quarried in Aswan, over 800 km away. In addition to the logistics involved in the transportation of the granite blocks, the material itself is much harder than limestone. However, only the bottom quarter of the casing stones are made of granite, the rest being limestone.

Admire the Pyramid of Khafre

Khafre Pyramid is the second largest pyramid in Egypt, only about 10 meters lower than the Great Pyramid. The pyramid is unique in that the remains of the original cladding have been preserved in its upper part. Khafre built his pyramid at Giza next to his father’s pyramid, his pyramid complex is better preserved than others, thanks in part to an innovative construction method using massive limestone blocks enclosed in a sheath of thin-facing slabs. The entire complex served as a temple for the resurrected god-pharaoh after his funeral.

Colossal statues are one of the hallmarks of ancient Egyptian civilization, and the Great Sphinx of Giza is the most famous. It was carved directly out of the bedrock during the 4th Dynasty (c.2613–2494 BC), which also makes it the oldest. Ancient Egyptian sphinxes represented the king with the body of a lion, in a clear demonstration of his power.

Discover the Valley Temple of Khafre

The mortuary temple of Khafre at the foot of his pyramid and the valley temple at the end of the causeway are larger than any of those of older pyramids, and also among the best preserved of the Old Kingdom. Another development in the reign of Khafre is the complexity of their layout, with the elements constituting his mortuary temple becoming the new standard that its later Old Kingdom counterparts would follow. A unique feature of Khafre’s complex is the inclusion of a colossal statue beside his valley temple the Great Sphinx. The valley temple is made of massive limestone blocks encased in granite, floors made of alabaster, and its wide hall features monolithic granite pillars.

Tour to the Egyptian Museum

The Museum of Egyptian Antiquities Your Private Tour Guide will pick you up from your hotel in Cairo. Grand Egyptian Museum

This mega museum in Giza will showcase Tutankhamun’s burial treasures for the first time, all at the same place, including 2,000 artefacts that have never been made public before. A visit to the Grand Egyptian Museum is a highlight of your Egypt tour.

The Grand Egyptian Museum is situated on 50 hectares (120 acres) of land approximately two kilometres from the Giza pyramids and is part of a new master plan for the plateau.

The building of the museum has a unique beauty. Although it will not rival the beauty of the Giza pyramids it looks like foldings in the desert sand. The Facade of the museum is geometrical in shape with alabaster stone. The museum is designed to line up with the Great Pyramid of Khufu and Menkaure.

The museum building is shaped like a chamfered triangle and while the front of the building has a translucent stone wall, it is the atrium inside that you will marvel at when you arrive.

The museum will house about 100,000 artefacts spanning a history of 7000 years of Egyptian history. With the latest technology in its halls.

One of the artefacts that has been recently transported to the museum is the thirty-foot-high granite statue of King Ramses II. The statue is more than three thousand years old and weighs about eighty-three tons. The statue was placed in a cage that was constructed specifically for the transport, and it was surrounded by a mounted military guard and a marching band for the journey. Once it arrived at the new Grand Egyptian Museum, it was placed inside the atrium where it will greet you every time you walk through the front doors.

While you are visiting this museum, you will be able to wander through exhibition galleries and watch a 3D movie within the cinema. It may be the ancillary buildings, restaurants, and shops that pique your interest the most after you have completed your exploration of history.

Virtual reality has also been incorporated into this new museum space, so every visitor will be able to incorporate the latest in technology during their visit. There is nothing better than feeling like you are being transported back in time as you are experiencing seeing these items for the first time.

What you will see, is the Hanging Obelisk Square in front of the museum, the atrium, the Children’s Museum, the Immersive Hall, the outdoor areas, and retail and food and beverage outlets, which include leading Egyptian brands.

Entry to the atrium will afford access to a selection of remarkable artefacts, including the colossus of Rameses II, the 10 Statues of Senusret, the Sakkara Cannon, the victory column of Meneptah, in addition to the Ptolemaic King and Queen statues.

All other museum interior spaces, including access to the main galleries and the two Tutankhamun galleries, will remain closed in preparation for the full site opening.

It was a fantastic experience

We visited both Cairo and Luxor; it was a fantastic experience. The tours were exceptionally well-organized, and we appreciated the seamless communication through WhatsApp. The guides were knowledgeable and engaging, making the experience thoroughly enjoyable. In addition, we were always well taken care of and had a good supply of drinks. Staying in a luxurious 5-star hotel right by the pyramids was a highlight of the two-day trip to Cairo. One of the most unforgettable experiences was dining in the rooftop restaurant, where we enjoyed reasonably priced meals and had a front-row view of the spectacular light and sound show. I want to extend a special thanks to all the drivers for their safe and patient service throughout our journey.

Landious did an exceptional job planning our tour

I recently took a trip to Egypt, and it was phenomenal. Even though I had visited in 2020, this time around was just as exciting, if not more so. It was my sister's and her husband's first time in Egypt, so seeing their wonder as they witnessed the pyramids for the first time was exceptional. Our tour operator, Landious, did an exceptional job planning our tour. He went above and beyond to ensure that we had an unforgettable experience. Seeing him again after our last trip in 2020 was such a delight. One of the highlights of this trip was visiting the new museum in Cairo. We opted for a 2-day tour this time, and it was completely worth it. The entire process went smoothly, from contacting Landious to booking our excursions. Everything was well-organized right from the start. On the tour day, we were picked up promptly at 2 a.m. and were already at the museum by 8 a.m. The guide was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about his job. He provided fascinating insights into the city, the pyramids, and the Sphinx. The lunch we had was excellent. The food, the ambience, and the people - everything was perfect. I would go back just for the meal. The transportation was comfortable, and the two drivers were exceptional. Overall, I highly recommend this trip to anyone considering visiting Egypt. It was indeed an unforgettable experience.

Cairo and Luxor Private Tours

We did two trips with Landious Travel from Makadi Bay to Luxor (1 day) and Cairo (2 days). From booking (easy, and they respond immediately) to transfer (private tour, just the 4 of us in a top minibus) to the actual tour, everything was PERFECT!!! The guides were very informative and funny. You could also go off the beaten track. We never had to queue or wait anywhere. The drivers were always right where they were supposed to be and continuously adjusted to our needs, regardless of whether we spent longer or shorter time at one or the other sight. The choice of our hotel in Cairo was superb, directly opposite the pyramids. I want to share my fantastic experience with Landious Travel. We went on two unforgettable trips with them: one to Luxor for a day and another to Cairo for two days. The process was effortless from the moment we booked, and they always responded quickly to our queries. Our transfer to the tours was in a top-quality minibus, and it was a private tour for just the four of us. The guides were knowledgeable and entertaining, adding extra enjoyment to the tours. We had the flexibility to explore beyond the typical tourist spots, and we never found ourselves waiting in line anywhere. The drivers were punctual and accommodating, ensuring our needs were met, whether we wanted to spend more or less time at a particular site. We had a fantastic time in Cairo that surpassed all of our expectations. It was a dream come true for both of us. The level of organization, from our knowledgeable guide to the top-notch hotel accommodations and delicious food, was awe-inspiring. What stood out the most was how everything was tailored to accommodate our 23-month-old daughter. Our guide was incredibly understanding and always willing to take breaks to ensure our little one was comfortable throughout the trip. We even had the luxury of having an entire minibus, providing our family with a relaxed and convenient experience. A heartfelt thank you to our exceptional drivers, our excellent guide, Ali, and the tour operator who provided round-the-clock assistance. This trip was nothing short of extraordinary!

Top organised 2-day tour to Cairo

We were promptly picked up and comfortably travelled to Cairo in a spacious minivan, making the 5.5-hour journey seem shorter thanks to a well-deserved nap (pro tip: bring a pillow for extra comfort). Upon arriving in Cairo, we were greeted by our exceptional guide, an Egyptologist fluent in English. Not only did he possess an impressive wealth of knowledge, but he also tailored the experience to our interests and needs. Navigating the Egyptian museum would have been overwhelming without his expertise. From Khan El Khalili to the hanging church and the pyramids, he made every destination a memorable experience. The entire tour was flawlessly organized, with a well-air-conditioned car and an amiable driver swiftly transporting us between locations. We were also treated to delicious lunches, and the restaurant on the second day stood out as exceptional. This was the final tour of three we booked with Landious Travel during our vacation, and each exceeded our expectations.

During our vacation in Hurghada, we carefully compared different options before booking a 2-day car tour for two people to Cairo and Giza with Landious Travel, an online travel agency. Our experience with them far exceeded our expectations. The driver who accompanied us was top-notch, and the Egyptologist who guided us in Cairo was equally impressive, providing extensive knowledge in English. Everything ran smoothly and punctually, and as a special treat, we were delighted to stay in a suite at the Steigenberger Pyramids Hotel with a direct view of the pyramids.
